Nigel Farage Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics
The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and white children oppressors.
At a gathering for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his perspective on British schools, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.
“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” he remarked during a Q&A session.
“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They are feeding this negative culture.”
In response to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union rejected the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.
“The politician has crafted his public life on dog-whistle politics and currently, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a conflict,” the union leader said.
“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, including education … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”
Reform, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.
Nonetheless, his comments suggested the group would reform the system and the curriculum. He said: “We face an enormous task with education – absolutely herculean. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, years to turn this around.”
He stated that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.
Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, he commented: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind as opposed to current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”
Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.
Farage has accused Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.
Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.
National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in recent years led to significant interruptions in schools and extensive missed instruction for students.
During the American gathering, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He said organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I mean this. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to these educational programs. I pledge this now and I’ll do that.”
The institution, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of freedom. It offers these beautiful courses for free to all who wish to learn.”
