Approximately 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland were left lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems passed over the region, bringing strong winds topping 109 kilometers per hour.

Residents reported substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7cm in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that various areas across Queensland had been affected by significant hail.
